Here at Davis CDL we offer a 4 week long course (which is equivalent to the state’s requirement of 160 hours) that will have you completely ready to enter your career with confidence. We realize that not everyone learns in the same way, which is why our experienced instructors have several different methods of teaching to accommodate everyone. We also keep our classes to a maximum of 10 students to ensure that each student receives the “one on one” attention and guidance that he/she deserves. The first week of the course will be in the classroom where you will learn all of the information that’s required to obtain your learners permit, while also growing to understand all of the technical aspects of a semi-truck. Once your permit is obtained, the rest of the duration will be hands-on experience behind the wheel. This will include learning the operational aspects, how to perform a proper pre-trip vehicle safety inspection, shifting techniques, turning maneuvers, and how to safely back up the vehicle. Once you’re ready to take the test with the state examiner, testing will be held right here on-site.
